Social memberships are not to take the place of business memberships, but circumstances exist where non-business affiliated individuals may want to join as a social member (i.e. retirees, students, etc.). Individuals affiliated with a business should join at the basic business membership category. As a community/civic minded individual, chamber membership for a social member is to connect and engage with community, maintain or develop relationship with other Chamber members, stay informed on current local, state, and federal affairs relevant to our region and expand awareness of local development, infrastructure, and public policy.
A social membership allows a member to attend all the social functions of the Chamber such as Business After Hours, General Membership Luncheon (reservations and payment required) and Holiday Open House. Also eligible to join a committee and participate in volunteer opportunities.
A social member is not eligible to:
· Represent, promote, or network for a business, nonprofit organization, elected official or candidate for public office,
· Vote in the Board of Directors election or bylaws revision,
· Be elected to the Board of Directors,
· Serve in a leadership role as a committee or division chair or industry liaison.
